This game was very good and dark, it felt like no matter what each outcome still resulted in something bad. I love the music too, reminded me of some John carpenter type stuff.
Very different from what I expected, but I was invested! The quick save feature makes it really easy to go back and explore different possibilities, and the mystery surrounding the Guest itself made me want to dive deeper each time. You don't see to many games like this and you nailed it, good job!
First I'm someone that likes to read in stupid voices, so I enjoyed my time playing it up as these characters through this narrative. In this playthrough I got 3 endings one being the Good one and it's obvious there are quite a few more.
I tend to do a pros and cons list when I play these games on itchio. You know to actually give the devs feedback on their games instead of just posting a video like most people tend to do here. The problem is there really isn't much to critique besides the story itself.
Story: Besides the obvious being some weird "guest" comes to your house at night. Apparently (SPOILERS) this is something he does quite often to many people it seems. But the "problem" is when the quest leaves you takes something important to you.
I'm assuming by playing through more ending more of the background info would be revealed to you. But the idea for the guy that we follow seems to be sometimes it's better to leave the past as is and live in the now (I'm pretty sure I'm probably wrong but I am writing this a day after I played the game so the story isn't as sharp in my head right now).
Even though the game doesn't leave much of a lasting impression on you it does play in such a way that once you get a bad ending you are very inclined to continue so props for that.
All in all a pretty nice 20 to 30min read (depending on how many endings you want).
I would recommend for anyone that enjoys and short slightly creepy narrative. I will keep my eyes out for part 2.
To the dev if you decide to peek at my video let me know if I should actually play through some more of those bad endings to see something interesting.
after playing this game i can only say that this is one of my favorite recent indie games. absolutely phenomenal. i really enjoyed the characters and honestly feel like this game was made specifically for me fr. i WILL be playing your other games.
This game was amazing! Loved the many ending and not going to lie loved how much of a a**hole the guest is. I can't believe I don't have a face anymore lol. Great job devs
He looked nice so I let him in and he played me like a trombone! I had lots of fun and laughs as you'll see in my Gameplay:
This was a great short horror story, SeriousDaniel! This Guest fella was very awkward, but so was our main character. If this were made into a movie, Guest could be played by Cillian Murphey. You know, that guy who played Scarecrow in Batman. Thank you for this great experience! You did a good job!
If you'd like my critical review here are my thoughts:
The aesthetic of the whole game is spot on. I would consider leaning in to this syle for furture games you make. You have a knack for it and I really would like to see more. The juxtaposition of the weird early 90s PC faced antagonist and the dirty PS1 graphics was stellar. And the semi-point and click aespect was also great.
Add way more options and outcomes (variations of endings).
More dialogue options rather than repeating phrases.
I really think you could have yourself the next big Indie Horror Game Mascot if you delved a little deeper into the Guests story.
pretty cool game! seems like more of a choose your own adventure rather then a game but it was still a good scary game! i played it for a youtube video (ignore the first 2 mins of it lol)
THESE GAMES HAVE MADE ME QUESTION WHY I CONTINUE TO TORTURE MYSELF WITH THESE HORROR GAMES, AND AMAZING JUMPSCARES!! ( This game was in it!! ) Youtube Link -
I really like your game! You managed to make players feel curious in every choice given. Interesting story. Solid. Although there are several options, the story feels connected and gets stronger. Greetings from Indonesia!
Hey!!! Absolutely loved the game! The creepy atmosphere was spot on! Really appreciated being able to skip past things I had already played! Such a great feature. Thanks for the fun experience, seriousDaniel!
Someone’s Knocking… But They Shouldn’t Be.
I’ll just leave this here, if you are interested 🫡
helloooo, me and my friend are translation students and we would like to translate your game to spanish and catalan completely for free. We see this as an opportunity to get some experience on this field and we would be very happy to work with you. Thanks and please let us know what you think!!!!!
Hey! I offer Czech translation services and can help incorporate authentic Czech slang for a more immersive experience. If you’re interested in making your game accessible to Czech-speaking players, feel free to reach out!

Very cool game with tense moments and a overall unnerving atmosphere
I would have appreciated a longer gameplay with more endings tho :)
But all and all a cool game, would love to see more games with this format from you soon.
I really like your game! You managed to make players feel curious in every choice given. Interesting story. Solid. Although there are several options, the story feels connected and gets stronger. Greetings from Indonesia!

do you really just repeat this?
Yes, you will figure why later. :)
Simple but great game! I was unsure if I was going to enjoy the visual novel style of this game but it turns out I really did.
